Transactional mail refers to any non-commercial mail sent, such as a bank statement or insurance policy to a customer. The message is not promotional, but informative. Much transactional mail will be replaced by e-mail in the future, or the customer must retrieve the information himself in his account (e.g. My ING) at the relevant company or institution.
